 Is it really stainless steel? Aug 23, 2010
We bought a couple of these bottles to replace some plastic ones. Since that time we have purchased a number of other brands of "stainless steel" bottles. The others are all very similar to each other, but his one is different--it seems lighter, to the point where I wonder if it really is a stainless steel bottle.
We prefer all of the other brands we've purchased, mostly because they have larger openings and don't make the water taste as metallic as this one does.
Another reviewer mentioned that the bottle was slightly magnetic, which it wouldn't be if it was made from the steel it is purported to be made of.
It sure feels different to me than our other bottles.
I would suggest bying a different bottle from some other company.

Love these water bottles, bought 8 of them. Water taste great, flows out smoothly and best of all does not leak.

Like many, I'm trying to transition to stainless, but darn it, this doesn't quite work.
Pros:
1. The bottle is gorgeous when new.
2. Some colors are wonderfully inexpensive at Amazon's current price (less than four dollars).
Cons:
1. I don't like drinking directly from stainless... it has a taste. (That's not this bottle in particular.)
2. So: It needs a sports cap. (They don't make a sports cap for this bottle.)
3. I would prefer a wider mouth, for easier cleaning.
Note: To preserve that pretty color, don't put it in the dishwasher. The metal and the coating are likely to expand and different rates and you will lose the coating.

Deceptive ad to the max, we don't care to have discription in metric. Makes product seem larger than it is. Also cap to bottle broken with no contact info in package to replace. Better off buying a stainless bottle at Albertsons or Vons.

broke out the bottom when I froze the water. Paint comes off real easy and the lid is a pain to get off.
