Much Better Than an Average Ice Bucket Apr 06, 2011
By Reading with an open mind Ok, who can ever use those crappy "tongs" that are customarily supplied with most ice buckets??? Well not me, for one. At best, I can manage to wrangle a few cubes in my glass until AFTER my first alcholic beverage is consumed and then all bets are OFF! So, the great thing about this bucket is that it comes with an ice SCOOP. The scoop is the proper tool to use to get ice from the bucket to a glass with minimal difficulty. The other great thing is the scoop has a holder on the back of the bucket that makes the whole process very easy and CLEAN. I used this bucket a few days after I got it for a party of about 20 guests and I only had to refill it 2 times, which I do NOT consider excessive considering how much we were drinking. It was located outside in the Arizona afternoon and the double walled insulation did an adequate job of keeping the ice in good condition.

Not what I expected Jun 05, 2011
By K. Guyton PROS: I really do like the flip top lid, which is attached, so there is nothing to lose. Also, the ice scoop is really well designed. I ruled out anything with useless tongs because picking up one cube at a time is maddening when you're trying to get a cocktail. It also looks sharp.
CONS: The issue is the hard black plastic bottom. I was expecting a softer, rubberized base that would reduce slip. It's not. This is a hard plastic made in Taiwan mold (literally) and the interior is the same. The handle is stainless, but really thin.
This might be a good outdoor backup, but not for in the house. I'm swapping this one out and spending the extra $20 on the Calphalon ice bucket.

holder for scoop Jun 29, 2011
By Rayna There are 2 reasons I love this ice bucket...due to the 2 reasons I hated my last one =
1. It has a scoop, rather than tongs. No one wants to sit and pick up ice cubes one by one when you need 10 per glass, and you're at a big family party waiting to get a cocktail.
2. It has a holder for the scoop. My ice tongs always ended up pushed around on the counter or falling on the floor.
Love this ice bucket!

Great Party Ice Bucket Aug 03, 2011
By Ingrid Sorenson We just had our annual summer barbeque. The temperature was in the 90's and it was humid. The bucket held the ice very well. It is a a perfect size, love the flip back lid and scoop instead of tongs. It is also nice enough to use for our next indoor party. I'm very glad I found it.
