This item is of very poor quality. All pieces are made of a hard, cheap plastic material and the stand is wobbly. Not worth $10 never mind %50.

I cannot stress this enough: you get what you pay for, and this set is cheap. The brush is hard and uncomfortable, not something you want to rub on your face when building a lather. "Natural bristles" usually means "horse" or "boar" and to be blunt, if it's not badger it's not worth buying or owning. Period. The razor handle is light, flimsy, and slippery: exactly what you DON'T want when moving a razor blade across your face. The bright side may be that the plastic is unlikely to leave any trace of rust on the counter top. If considering this for yourself or as a gift for someone you actually like, don't buy it. This set is a ticket to mutual disappointment.
Update: I posted the above comment after using the brush and razor twice. The fourth time I used this kit the bristle head fell out of the handle and I had to glue it back together. Also, when replacing the blade cartridge, the razor handle does not 'fit' into the cartridge sufficiently unless the cartridge is first removed from the plastic holder. This is a horrible, horrible product.

Bought the item as a Christmas present for my boyfriend. Based on the product description, price (about $45) and picture, I thought I was buying a very nice, possibly porcelain and chrome shave set. When the package arrived, I was surprised and disappointed to find that the items were actually made of plastic with a chrome lining. I have a bathroom set (toothbrush holder, cup, garbage can, etc) which is very similar in design that I paid less than $45 for, and it's actually made of porcelain. Very disappointed that I paid $45 for a cheap, plastic shave set. I typically do not spend this much money on gifts because I really cannot afford to, but because I love my boyfriend, I did not mind spending the extra money because I thought I was buying a nice product of good quality. I feel ripped off.
