I really like using these. Unfortunately one of magnets has already chipped the chrome off. I'm not sure how that happened but overall the product works well.

I purchased these after a rather embarrassing moment when I was wearing a suit (with a tie on also) and unbeknownst to me, the collars had curled up and were sticking straight out. I had the plastic stays in the collar but they had also curled which really made them stick out :( The way I found out was by a friend and colleague offering to purchase me some brass collar stays (how embarrassing). While I appreciated the concern, it got me to thinking about whether those would do what I really wanted (after all, the plastics I purchased from Brooks Brothers didn't do it). After doing some searching, I found these.
I have to say, after several weeks I've found them indispensable. I wear them with every button down, collared shirt I have and they are GREAT!!! I've even worn them with ties (this takes a little working with as I've found the only way to easily do this is by buttoning the top button, tying the tie, and then placing the magnets in place). In every scenario I've used them they've worked great.
I've always placed the stay and the magnet in place prior to putting on the shirt (except for in the instance described above when wearing a tie). The wonderful thing is even if you're dressing casual and don't want the collar straight up, you can simply gently move the collar (thereby adjusting the magnet on the underside of the shirt). Whatever look you're going for these work great. I really don't know how I got by without them.

very well packaged. magnets are pretty strong to my surprise. definitely an improvement over the standard collar stay. if you are picky about your look, this is a must have.
